This is only a partial list of parts that we are currently using that are worth considering for your latest build. Of course there may be better options for the price, or better quality items, but all of the below we have personally used at one stage and can confidently say they performed well. We are happy to field any questions of the below items or any other for your latest bike build.

Shimano Zee M640
Shimano SLX m665

Any cheap 1 1/8 sealed baring headset should do as long as it’s a cup external style and not an integrated headset.
FSA make a number of good ones such as the Orbit, Orbit MX etc.
Chris king NoThreadset 1 1/8 headset.

Any cheap alloy 27.2mm seatpost will do unless you’re concerned about weight or are exceptionally heavy then something like a Thompson Elite.

Time atac
Shimano SPD

We recommend any 1-1/8th stem with a length between 80-100mm. The clamp size depends on preferred bar set up.

Shimano XT (for 26” only)
Surly hubs
Profile hubs
Hope hubs
Fixcraft V2 polo hubs
Milwaukee Bicycle Co polo hubs

We recommend 36 spoke holes for rims unless the player is exceptionally hard on gear.
Mavic A119 or 319 road rim for 700c
Mavic xm119 (disc) or 117 (rim brake) for 26”
Velocity chukker in 26” or 700c

Avid bb7 mechanical disc brake
Shimano XT v-brakes (LX or XTR also good)
Brake Lever
Avid bb7 brake lever for single brake or disc
Avid bb5 lever if dual brake lever mod

Personal preference
Ergon GP1 or GS1 grips

Saddles are again a personal preference, get something cheap if you have no idea. WTB make great gel saddles for mountain bikes which are great for that $40 mark.
